The Need for Veterans Groups.
Introduction.
Aim.
Courses Open.
Factors.
Plan.
Veterans In Need as well as many other Veterans’ groups primarily exists for one collective reason;
For irrespective of the few good-hearted individuals who devote their time to larger governmental funded and fuelled organisations, many Veterans, Widows and Dependants are left feeling used, abused, raped, ignored, neglected, abandoned and left to rot, by the very item they have fought and killed to uphold, maintain and protect..... The Institution of Government.
• Veterans In Need is a voluntary group which consists of former members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces
• The heartbeat of this group can be felt throughout the four countries of the United Kingdom.
• Through experience we ruthlessly understand that Veterans unlike other groups are excluded from preferential treatment by many an elected body who are protected from the horrors of war by those who would serve to contain the possibility of war from ever reaching these shores
• We are united in our belief that many such elected bodies insist that countless Veterans represent themselves or risk not being represented at all.
The aim of our group is to effectively launch every active member of Veterans-In-Need to all undertaken tasks, knowing exactly what is being asked of them, understanding the overall plan, and their part in the overall plan, what resource and support is available to them, and employing ourselves in a fit state to represent all Veterans, Widows and Dependents, to ensure we deliver results which reflect the best interests of those who approach Veterans-In-Need for assistance.
1. To recruit from our Veteran population either through individual membership or by welcoming smaller groups into our Body to increase our numbers adding volume to our voice.
2. Continue to Plan & Conduct our Body akin to an admired, informal
Regimental set-up. This would permit a solid working relationship with smaller
groups wishing to retain their own Title and Identification in the knowledge
that they are part of a hard-hitting, no nonsense Body.
3. Focus on the continued growth of the numbers, resource and results of
Veterans-In-Need in the certain knowledge that the days of the British ‘stiff
upper lip’ are gone and the ‘day of vocal demands’ by Veterans are here
to stay.
4. Establish what governmental Veterans Bodies are willing to work with
Veterans.
5. Identify politicians and civil servants of Central & Local Office
who support our Veterans free from ambiguity, and identify, name and shame
those who refuse too.
In order to accomplish our aim, Veterans-In-Need are aware that it is imperative to never lose focus of the factors that, in a negative or positive manner must be identified, addressed and overcome. We identify these factors as so;
1. That many Veterans through ruthless, unforgiving, and shattering reality the abandonment from the government of the day, have come to understand that the regime they have fought to uphold, maintain and protect was a figment of their imagination. And as they feel used, abused and neglected, the most significant contribution of their life has accomplished nothing more than securing a regime that in turn will use, abuse and neglect the public.
2. Many Veterans In Need feel sick to the pit of their stomach and frustrated
to the point of suicide when;
a. They listen to alienated politicians talking of “how much we owe Veterans”, when the truth of the matter is that on many an occasion, the politicians in question is simply speaking these words to raise awareness of no other item than, their self.
b. Government-funded and fuelled Veteran’s organisations fall inadequately short in producing compassion, understanding, and tangible results within a timetable that is paramount to the needs of the Veteran and his/her family.
c. Veterans and their families feel desperate for, a voice that’s independent from bodies which are government funded and appointed, yet fail to find one.
d. Many Office Bearers of Regimental Associations are misguided and deluded to such an extent that they believe that they still owe ruthless loyalty to the government of the day and in a desperate bid not to rock the boat this psychological state dictates they abandon their own members and families to absolute poverty and mental illness.
e. The government of the day would much prefer that Veterans and their families
be represented by their ‘bodies’ and that all other Veterans groups, by
hook or crook be wiped from the Veterans Road Map.
f. As the Duke of Wellington, later to be Prime Minister remarked for posterity, “the army is merely made up from the scum of the earth”. This historical record of societal identification has never been abandoned, quite to the contrary any deep compassion and displayed good intent for the betterment of Veterans by a potential Prime Minister dictates to the Civil Service and, higher echelons of the political party that he or she have failed to grasp the rudimentary of the structured society in which he or she lives.
Veterans In Need will with the desired Confidence, Manner, Attitude, Diligence
and Enthusiasm continue to identify and utilise all desired, much-needed
forms of resource, from Recruitment to Intellect, from Finance to Publicity
in order to create the significant social and political re-adjustment that
the Veterans, Widows and Dependants of our Armed Forces have for many centuries,
needed, wanted and deserved.
