Hello Vets in Need, firstly i would like to introduce myself, Im Jason Wallace former serving member of the R.E. I have just finished reading your article on the vets in prison ! For some while now i have been wondering about those men who have ended up in this type of situation. As a sufferer of PTSD myself, i too have come into contact with the law and fortunatly never been jailed ,yet there are situations which arrise sometimes that cannot be controlled due to ptsd .Ptsd is not an excuse for veterans behaviour, however,it does affect our behaviour. We Veterans should have more support when a veteran is taken into custody from the start.I also believe we should have a Veterans representative to see to this Veterans needs throughout the whole  process, even if they are to be jailed. I feel the police forces should have a section included into their training regime on how to calm and assure , instead of its aggressive manner towards Veterans, without even knowing they have served this country. However once in custody they should contact the Veterans Representative and things could be a bit different for many .Possibly the use and total recognition of our Veterans Card could be used as we All should be given one ,without having to apply for it !!

Well ,there's a lot of things that need to change for us Veterans and i feel it is a goverment issue and it's the government that need to get their act and attitude toward all of those who have sufferd in the past in the present and in the futures to come !!

In the near future im hoping to be involved with a new organisation with the Edinburgh PTSD Centre.

It is a pleasure to sign your guestbook in light of what your group has done for jim. I hope you receive all the support you are seeking as I am sure you are doing splendid work for many,Robert

hello, can anyone help with my war pension that has been lowered. I am housebound and live on my own and i filled in the forms wrong but war pensions wont listen to me

This is great place to share your experience, good or bad with other veterans. In here, you will never be alone and always welcome with warm heart. It nice to see help is always at hand and remember, their are always solutions to problems. All you need to know, is where to look and this is great place to start. Keep up the good work - and keep fate with one another, it can move mountains.

Thanks for your help lads, if I can help in any way as a return favour, please get in touch.Phil

It is taught in Her Majesty's Forces "1. courage 2. honour And 3. never to leave a comrade behind"....BUT on leaving we find these very 3 beliefs are stripped from us? left in despair and without hope for the future for ourselves or our families. I would like to thank your group for having the courage and honour to help Veterans and their families, giving them some hope, that there may be a brighter future...

Good luck and God bless

kind regards

What a lovely warm-hearted gesture to dedicate a page of your website to the Parents. I cannot recollect having seen one before on any other site and it is only right that our population has a chance to remember those who will live with such a loss that many of us can only momentarily understand. Well done x

On reading the account of a meeting under the 'Recently' tab, I couldn't agree more and I don't think many fair minded people will think this group is 'anti-government'. Your website comes across just as many would expect it too do, from Veterans. Strong. no-nonsense and to the point and the feeling of the presence of morale fibre is enormous and it is exactly these attributes that make us so proud of you all in the first place. Keep up the good work. XX

here's something I remember from many years ago.Knowledge dispells fear! I have been gifted with such  as a result of dancing with death on many 'o' occassion, even still i can not spell but my heart is still within the cause. you better believe it

Well deserved site. Thank you its what our brave soldiers need.

i just would like to thank you for all youhave done for all of us,,we are so proud of you all from the we sister of, fus.gordon gentle

I am so proud of the manner in which all our Service people and Veterans perform. I have never been in the mob myself but I sense what it is all about. Some of our Veterans do indeed need more help. Winners never quit and quitters never win,

Yours

Bill

my mum sed i cood say thank you for fiting for us and i hope you all get well really really quick X

Great site, agree with all the previous girls messages, some Veterans ARE servile.

Jim

My friend told me that this was a good site and I agree. Most of what I would have preferred too say at this point has been written already. I am proud that our Veterans don't stop fighting the second they leave the Services. If the people who run this site and do the work for our brave men and women in need face tough opposition  am sure they will overcome it. Some Veterans still believe that they are loyal to the government of the day, which is true but not in the same sense and it makes me sad to watch Veterans at the Cenotaph being left to last especially if they are wounded and the weather is bad. I don't want to offend anyone, but some Veterans still think that they are due ruthless loyalty to the government almost to the point of being servile and acting like butlers. It is these people who will not like this site, for they have no real idea what it is to be a Veteran in real need and get ignored from government or they would change their mind but............. then again servility is a strong illness.

Please keep going,

All my love,

Chelsea x

Hi,I found this website on yahoo search engine and have enjoyed reading through it. I found all lot of what I have read and the meaning of it very inspirational and hope all of our former soldiers, sailors and airmen and women get what they need having served in this noble art of selflessness. I would like to say that Sue is right and that many websites are too complicated and difficult to navigate through as people try to outsmart one another, so please keep this one simple. I will send you some stuff that you might find helpful now and again and I will tell my friends to support this site as your fight is a worthy cause and the government wont make it easy for you, but i do know that there must be 10 million Veterans in the uk and that is a good position to be in. My grandfather was killed in the war and my grandmother died last month, having never married again.

what a wonderful website. I was filling up with tearss as I read through your site and understood that Veterans In Need are a group of people that are willing to stand up to..........well almost anyone for the benefit of your brothers and sisters. I am not a Veteran but having read what you have written I will always spell Veteran with a capital V. It is a wonderful idea to hold your own Remembrance Day service, and i fully understand that I have never experienced the horrors of war because our Armed Forces have ensured that war has never reached these shores (as I was reminded on this site) Love and best wishes to you all XX

As  an ex serviceman myself i feel great pride at what you are trying to achieve .I know that the road ahead will be difficult and long . But if we can all stick together as the Brothers and  Sisters that we are there will not be much that we cannot do to see that we are given the respect , and help, that we have all fought for .

just a note to highlight www.afpg.info  we should all pledge our support  , shug

as the dependant child of another abandoned Veteran i say you the implied "dogs of war" should redirect your wrath at the government officials and politicians who can make the changes you desire, adapt your very considerable skills to this new worldwide battlefield use your keyboard as your weapon, overcome any obstacles in your way, improvise ,use other peoples words when you cant find them ,bombard your chosen quarry with these words and make your voice heard, good luck  god bless, connie

We veterans must stick by one another as we all did when serving, irrespective of which arm of Her Majestys Forces we dedicated our lives to, it is, "ONE for All,And All For One"

Poloticians talk a good talk but how many answere a question directly none, They always answere a question with a question. They talk of what they would do if they were in power and forget it when they are elected. They don't give a dam how many soldiers are killed in there political war and as for veterans do they care do they hell.

Go for it Vince!
