Veterans Sweetheart
Born; 11 minutes to 11 on the 11th of the 11th in the year of ’56 (there’s that 11 again!)
Poppy is a Norfolk girl who lives in Cambridgeshire who hails from a family with a military background.
Veterans In Need met the acquaintance of Poppy when she acquired a great deal of assistance and comfort from us when she found herself in a disturbing situation that threatened her physically and psychologically. Only after discussing with her that she had ‘fell into the arms’ of the custodians of our Veterans group did all parties then understand her deep compassion for our servicemen, women and Veterans and their families.
The very instance that Veterans In Need understood the unique symbolism of Poppy’s birth details, we immediately invited her to a new concept, that of the Veterans Sweetheart and that the vacancy could be filled by no better woman. Poppy immediately agreed and it emerged that Poppy has a great deal of fundraising experience.
Poppy has 25 years of employment within the care industry under her belt and not wishing to be seen merely as a ‘celebrity type sweetheart’ has thrust herself so passionately at her new role that Veterans In Need are delighted with her ideas and concepts for the progression of our group.
Look forward to ‘Poppy’s Forum which will take its pride of place on the Veterans In Need website where her immense experience will assist many others in overcoming their misfortunes in life.
