Psychological aptitude of the Civil Service and their invitation to the Coward's Guesthouse to those who represent you and yours.
Unfortunately the soul shattering reality that awaits every serving member of Her Majesty’s Forces on discharge is that it is often self-serving cowards that dictate the fate of the patient, the tolerant, the good, and the selfless people in our society. And it is naïve wishing thinking that would insist to anyone that such behaviour is anything other than intentional.
In relation to our Armed Forces, the certainty of this ‘Assimilation of Intent’ begins with the higher echelons of the civil service which is duly passed down throughout the ranks of our elected office bearers.
Without fail as each subordinate rank adopts the new train of thought from their immediate superior rank, the meat and bones of the new policy is somewhat lost, but the ‘intent’ certainly isn’t. Over four centuries ago, in the aftermath of the victory over the Spanish Armada, a significant number of the Armed Forces lay incapacitated for life in the ports of Plymouth and Portsmouth. In response to their pleas, the authority of the day retorted, “…..what are they complaining about, there are people much worse off than them”. They were complaining because there was insufficient Duty of Care, no pension, no medical health care plan, and no suitable housing was made available to them.
The fact that it is still an issue today is owed in no small way to the fact that these god-forbidden observations and opinions were recorded with impunity for the sake of posterity, with the intent that future leaders would follow suit and feel no remorse for attacking the people that a former Prime Minister described the Army as ‘The scum of the Earth’.
In the not to distant past, former Prime Minister Tony Blair raced to Basra with some of his friends, in what undoubtedly a visit that raised the morale of the loyal troops who were serving there.
Unbeknown to the Armed Forces was that, as Tony Blair was looking them in the eye and shaking their hands, he failed to tell them that at precisely that exact moment in time, somewhere back in London, some more of his friends were overhauling the procedures for assessing and awarding pensions and compensations to the Armed Forces injured in battle, and that ‘Tony Blair’ had just made it impossible for many of them to be awarded what would be automatically theirs in a fair society. Neither would he have requested of them that if they sustained life long injuries, then they best take their own life, for people like him, have never liked a burden.
It stands the course of ruthless reason that our elected or otherwise civic leaders have not been getting this wrong, for so long, unintentionally. Many of today’s elected office bearers certainly will not be in possession all the relevant facts, but even the most intellectually challenged them get the gisc of the intent, and far from challenging it, are eager to support it.
No abandonded Veteran stands alone, as he or she constantly worries that the contribution of his life has merely safeguarded the bullying regime that will in turn, persecute other members of the public.
Abandoned Veterans are only too aware that if these animals are viciously eager to abandon the men and women who would die to protect them, then behind the closed doors of any authority, regardless of Civil Service, Central or Local Ofice, the non-combatant electorate are awarded almost zero respect.
These people are Damned and Damned they will stay, as their attitude towards Veterans will only change should Veterans fight to encourage change.
"Strike Us Not With Impunity"
Historic analogies that any society can and should be judged on its sense of fair play, in the light of governmental transparent lack of integrity and clarity, has never been more relevant than it is today. Read the Veterans Template.

Many good, solid, strong men and women who cannot be bullied, badgered, bought or blackmailed have gone out on a limb to ensure that Veterans have been awarded the assistance. We post our thanks in the Hall Of Fame.
Our Hall Of Shame will not turn into a turkey shoot, however shaming our politicians and others alike may just be the tonic required to gain a promotion to the Hall of Fame!
